RACE GIVES NATIONAL DOG CHARITIES CHANCE TO WIN $1 MILLION

Rusty Wallace and Shawna Robinson, Racing Legends, Were On-Hand As Grand Marshals

Event: Objects that entertain dogs each day, such as fire hydrants
and life-sized dog bones, set the stage for the Beggin' Strips A-Mazin' Bacon Race, the ultimate playground and racecourse for dogs. The race offered select national dog charities a chance at a $1 Million donation.

Date/Location: The event took place on Wednesday, June 5th, at 11:30 am at the South Street Seaport-Pier 17 (89 South St.) in New York City. The event was free and open to the public.

Sponsor: Purina® Beggin' Strips® brand dog snacks, a bacon-flavored treat

Celebrity: Rusty Wallace, racing legend, and Shawna Robinson, noted driver and mother of two, were on-hand as the Grand Marshals.

Trainer: Dave Whitworth, a professional dog trainer who trained the A-Mazin' Bacon Race canine stars to fly through the course, was on-hand to introduce the canine stars and educate dog lovers on dog training tips and dog care.

Background: The Beggin' Strips A-Mazin' Bacon Race showcased three professionally trained dogs that competed against each other and the clock, through a fun and interactive agility course, each racing on behalf of a different pre-selected national dog charity. The dog that won the race earned his charity representative the chance to choose from 100
bags of Beggin' Strips. If the representative chose the correct bag,
his or her charity would receive the $1 million donation. Although the charity did not pick the $1 million bag, Purina Beggin' Strips is still making a $5,000 donation.

Charities: The American Humane Association, the North Shore Animal League of America, and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals were the three charities with a shot at the $1 million donation prize. The winning charity was the American Humane Association, represented by Caroline DeRosa.
